TCL, the company which owns the Alcatel mobile brand, has launched a new smartphone in India, Alcatel One Touch Idol X+, which is Octa-Core smartphone with 5 Inch Full HD screen. Alcatel has exclusively tied up with flipkart for the launch and as on date, the handset is on sale on the website at the introductory price of Rs 16,999/-, also you will get the boom band and the JBL headphones free.
Alcatel Onetouch Idol X+ is powered by 2 GHz MediaTek's Octa Core processor with 2 GB RAM, it has Mali 450 GPU for graphics processing. It has 5 Inch IPS Full HD display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which will translate to 441 PPI, in terms of pixels per inch. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection to avoid scratches. Out of the box it will run on the Jelly Bean 4.2 OS.
It has 16 GB internal memory, out of which 12.4 GB will be available to user. But it lacks the expandable memory, Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+ doesn't have slot for memory card.
On the camera front it has 13 Mega pixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and on the front it has 2 Mega Pixel camera for selfie! It has 2500 mAh battery.

The information is really descriptive. There is not any doubt that Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ can be one of the best option under Rs 20K price range. But as per my view, I think that there are few minus points in concern to this phone that might allow the user to neglect it and move on to any other handset. The first point that I have observed is that it is not capable to extend the storage memory. It must be made available with an option of external memory card slot. The second point that disappoints me is the battery. Even being a 5 inch phone, and with an Octa core processor this phone is only installed with a 2500mAh battery which in my perception is not sufficient to offer a better battery backup. Truly saying, I have investigated other Alkatel Mobiles in India too, but this is the only phone that was suffering from such issues.
