Xiaomi RedMi 1S announced in India for Rs 6999/-

Today Xiaomi has announced the Mi 3 Smartphone in India at a press event in Delhi, Xiaomi Mi 3 is 5 inch HD phone with killer specs and price, there is certainly a reason for worry to Micromax, Xolo and other Indian manufacturers. Along with the Mi 3, Xiaomi has also unveiled the RedMi 1S which is a strong competitor to Moto E, Lava Iris X1 and Micromax Unite 2. As per the press event, Xiaomi RedMi 1S will be available in early August month. It is priced at Rs 6999/-

Xiaomi RedMi 1S has 4.7 Inch IPS HD touch screen with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and in terms of pixels per inch it will come to 312 ppi. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection on the screen to resist from scratches. Xiaomi RedMi 1S is powered by 1.6 GHz Quad Core processor from Qualcomm with 1GB RAM and Adreno 305 image processor. 

It has 8 GB internal memory which can be further expanded to 64 GB with micro SD card. It has 8 Mega Pixel rear camera with LED flash, the rear camera is auto focus and capture 1080p videos. On the front it has 1.6 Mega Pixel camera for selfie!

It has MIUI custom user interface running on the Jelly Bean 4.3 OS, also there is no clarity of KitKat OS update. On the connectivity front, since it's dual SIM, it supports 2G/3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS. 

It is backed by 2000 mAh battery.
