Asus today launched their 7 Inch tablet called FonePad to compete with overcrowded Indian market in 7 inch tablet segment. This tablet was announced in Spain, in World Mobile Congress in February, which is now available in India. However this is not going to be a budget tablet as this is priced at Rs 15,500/- Also this is the tablet which is going to run on Intel's Atom processor.
This 7 Inch tablet runs on Intel's Atom processor with 1.2 Ghz, operating on Jelly Bean 4.1 OS, with front camera of 1.2 Mega Pixel, and rear camera with 3.2 Mega Pixel sensor. This is power packed with a battery of 4170 mah capacity. It has 1 GB RAM, internal memory of 8/16 GB, memory can be expanded to 32 Gb with Micro SD card.
The touch screen is IPS LCD, with resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels which is coming to 216 ppi. Fone Pad supports Micro SIM for 2G and 3G calling. Touch screen supports multi-touch upto 10 fingers.
For connectivity it has Bluetooth, WiFi but lacks HDMI.
