Brother International has just introduced three new models of multi function printer in Ink Jet type, DCP-T300W, DCP-T500W and DCP-T700W, at The Gadgets Star, we received the review unit, DCP-T500W. We are sharing the Hands-On Review for all of you!
First of all we take a look at what is offers!!
Brother DCP-T500W is multi function, print, scan,copy printer with wireless printing facility. It is Ink Tank printer, where you need to fill Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow ink in order to have B&W and color prints. The USP of the printer is "Fill,Forget and Save On" as the Black ink helps you to print more than 6000 pages, making it most economical Mono printer. So if you calculate for Rs 670/- ink bottle will yield you 6000 pages prints, effectively 9 paisa per print!
If your need is more color prints then, Rs 440/- per ink bottle and you get 5000 prints, to put it in simple way, you will get color prints at 26 paisa per print.
Wireless Printing will help you to take print from your laptop, mobile,tablet, or iPad from any corner of your office or home. It comes with 1 line LCD which will help you in setting up the printer initially or during normal operation.
Smart ink-filling design helps you in easy re-filling of the link without wastage, as in DCP-T500W, you will fill ink @ 45 Degrees.
If you are looking at printing speeds, then this offers you speeds comparable with Laser jets, as in fast mode, you get 27 Monochrome and 11 color prints and in Normal mode you get 11 & 6 respectively.
Input tray has capacity of 100 papers which eases the pain of re-filling the tray often, output tray has capacity of 50 sheets.
Brother DCP-T500W also offers, poster printing and image enhancement.

As you open the box, you will see, power cord, USB cable, two ink boxes and instruction manual, it's plug n play, no need to worry. Just open the top cover and connect USB cable, attach power cord. In 3 easy steps fill the inks. And you are ready to rock!!
Once you power on, it will ask you for date and time set up, post the same it will take around 7-8 minute to clean the printing heads. Here comes your test print!
Now you will need to install the printer drivers from CD in to your computer, once the same is done, now you can take print from you computer as well, it supports various Windows OS, such as XP, Vista, 7 / 8,Windows 8.1 apart from Mac OS X and Linux.

Now from the Brother Utility folder or from Notification Area, you will be able to open Control Center 4, which helps you to modify settings of your printer easily.
Control Center 4 utility is very easy to use, it will help you to enhance your photo graphs before taking prints, changing path of the storage of scan copies etc. With use of 1-2 hr you will be able to master the same!
You will be able to send emails of scan copies from this machine if you are on Wireless printing. Google Cloud Printing is also supported.
On the price front, this DCP T500W costs you, Rs 11450/- with one year warranty! With this, you will also get 2 Black ink bottles and 3 Cyan, Magenta and Yellow Bottles Free!
Print Quality is very excellent, it produces stunningly good photographs as well!

This printer sucks... had a hard time configuring it compared to competitors. I want to return it or better burn it.

ReplyDeleteWhat is the maximum size does the copier & scanner supports? Most multifunction printers only aupports A4 size for scan & copy. I hope, it supports legal size. Thank you
ReplyDeleteDCp-T500W purchased following my canon print head malfunction. The dealer checked it over, filled the ink tanks. The only thing which took a little longer than expected in the \set up was wifi, but using the wizard no problem. Scans immaculate, trying to figure if I can duplex. Otherwise so far so good.
